ABA Services

Below is a list and descriptions of the different types of services offered.  ABA services include combinations of the services below individualized to the learner's unique needs.

One on One Therapy

One on one therapy is provided in order to provide evidenced based therapy practices and supervision.  Each client has a staff member directly working with him or her during each therapy session. This allows for staff to focus on each client's specific programming and treatment plan.

Discrete Trial Training

Discrete Trial Training is a teaching procedure used to train skills using a 3 step process:

1. Present instruction

2. Client answers (correct or incorrect)

3. Provide lots of praise/reinforcer for correct answer, if incorrect- prompt correct answer and smaller praise/smaller reinforcer

There is typically a 3-5 seconds period between each teaching trial. Each client's discrete trial training is individualized to their specific learning abilities.

Communication training

Communication training is critical to replacing problem behaviors associated with getting attention, getting items, or escaping from doing something. We conduct an assessment and interview families to determine the most effective modality of communication for each client.  This modality is assessed every 6 months to determine its effectiveness.

Modalities of communication can include one or more of the following:

1. Vocal speech

2. Sign language or modified sign language

3. Picture Exchange

4. Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC)- typically technology related devices used to communicate (Proloquo2go)
